So I found an excuse to light candles during grey hours. And there was time to do a bit of sewing. One day I baked cookies in Amy's little kitchen for her cookie jar, well ... really the cookies were for Tim and the boys. The frequent rain gave us full fragrant peonies and roses and then poured down all over the heavy blooms. I've been gathering bouquets off the ground really. Maybe someday I'll learn to create proper trellising. Danelle left this cute little vase as a hostess gift and I've been enjoying it immensely. It's just right somehow. So yes, bouquets in every room is gracious living. Any room that merits flowers is tidy and welcoming, right? The peaches came in this week and they're ripening nicely this year. Flavorful and juicy. It could be that last year I was in too big a hurry to keep up. I put them in the freezer prematurely. So I've decided to live more slowly this year, letting things ripen better. There's a lesson here, probably. I'll let you discover it yourself. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
