This is still, nothing MORE than, a P-I-P-E D-R-E-A-M, that the Tsai (now it's the Lai) government has, of turning THIS country into dual-lingual, because there's NO environment for this in this god damn, "country" (no longer one, not since the DDP REGIME took us over!) for this, and yet, the Department of Education, still implemented these, policies, with the primary AIM of, KILLING the children here! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The parents, to ensure that their young win at the starting point, some had, spent major money to place their children in the all-English or the dual-language cram school, but for the ordinary, dual-income families, how do they, spend the money where it will, count? The English instructor, Huang told, that as her own children were growing up, she'd given them the English illustrated books to read, more pictures, less words, and less, stresses for them, and their vocabulary had, increased with them getting older, and, by the higher grades of elementary, her children are able to read the short essays with the illustrations, they'd also, watched the cartoons in English, and sung the English songs too.
Mr. Chen told, that he'd sent his own young into the dual-language preschools, and although he'd sent his children into the regular elementary school, but after school, he'd still placed his son into the all-English cram school, the cost is at $20,000N.T. tuition per month; his children had been articulate, literate in English from when they were younger, can read English well started in the preschool years, and they'd both made near perfect scores on their TOEIC exams when they're older, his youngest son even went for a master's in the U.S., and after graduation, he'd begun working in the U.S., that this was a good investment based off of his beliefs.
But, do we need to spend the huge amounts of money for the children to study English? Chen, a college student who'd gone into the All-English track from preschool to high school told, he has a better reading, listening, and speaking ability, especially in listening, he can understand the every day conversations, this was the biggest gain for him, but later, as his academic pressures grew, he'd found, that he'd not had enough vocabulary built up, that he also needed work on his writing skills.
The English teacher, Huang told, that the parents' companionship in learning English is extremely important, three times a week, every time, reading an English book from start to finish or to learn a song in English, if the parents can, hold conversations in English with their young.
Another English instructor, Su told, that the children are now, very into the videos, the parents can sit with their children to watch the English videos, to read the books on C.D. with them together, and after reading and watching, a discussion of the contents, and the English vocabulary games can also be played to reinforce what's been learned, to incorporate learning the English vocabulary words into every day life.
Learning English takes time, and a lot of resources are necessary. The assistant director of the language center in Da-Yeh University, Chen told, to get the kids learn a foreign language, the parents can sit and read with the children, learning the language together at home, and in school, the children will speak in English, there would be more efficacy, don't believe, that by spending huge amounts of money, placing the children in the private English tutoring sessions, or the all-English cram schools would do the trick, if the parents can learn along, it can help the children learn better.
So this is on modeling behavior, if the kids see us do it, then, chances are, they are going to, pick up the habit too, but, the parents are way too busy, working in their nine-to-fives, making ends meet, the bills on the table, the fees for the afterschool program, cram schools due next week, and all of that became, too heavy for the parents to carry, the parents don't even have the time to read over the assignments their children had completed, they just, signed in the box, so, for this "proposal" to work well, the parents first, need to RESET their priorities, but, we can't, there's money to be made, if we take a day off work, that's, a day less of pay that we are getting, and we still have to, sit along with our children to study English together? How do we find the time, so yeah, this is still, IDEAL, but NOWHERE N-E-A-R, real here!
