View all responses Our daughter has struggled to learn how to use the sewing machine. Learning to sew is very much like learning to drive. The steering wheel is the fabric going through the machine's foot. The pedal is well, gas and brake pedals. There is a rhythm that occurs when you understand how your hands and feet work together. There have been many tears and muttering under her breath. I refused to finish her skirt she started. I knew she wanted this skirt and was aware it would inspire her to learn.
