The older I get the more I enjoy the silence.
There are days where I can go until lunch without outside noises, just my thoughts and talking to myself😂😂. Now go back 15 years, I couldn't imagine doing that. Silence would cause me to reflect on mistakes I would rather forget. Music became a pivotal part of my life in school. It had the capability to take me somewhere else. It wasn't until just recently that I started to relish the silence. In the mornings, I need my silence and coffee!!
That is one of the things I love most about my job.
SILENCE
In the silence, it's easier to hear God's voice.
Not to say he can't speak through a stranger or a friend, there are countless ways He can make His voice known. He spoke to me through a fawn!
Anything is possible when you serve the God of the impossible.
In my Bible reading plan I came across this verse 1 Kings 19:11-12,
"And he said, "Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper."
1 Kings 19:11-12 ESV
This verse showcases His power to bring about an earthquake, a fire or a mighty wind, but He wasn't in any of those. He was in the whisper.
""Be still, and know that I am God.…" -Psalm 46:10a ESV
Let's remember to look for Him in the stillness and quiet.
I can't believe it's almost July. I do apologize for not writing sooner. Sometimes I wish inspiration was a switch I could flip and have words to write worth reading. Unfortunately, writers block is a thing and it took me captive for the last month, but I'm back and inspired to write!!
Stay strong!
