Jane's story begins in high school as she is beginning to build her life. Jane builds a life based on the fact she loves the story of people. She marries the love of her life David. Throughout the book, we get glimpses of the lives of the other women in her family and how they are all tied to the abandoned house. I love this book is set in Maine.
