I returned from dinner with a friend, where yes I also complained about my sourdough starter, to find it in its monster state, abundant and doubling over. Last Friday, also low-key attempting to make a Shabbat dinner for the family without really calling it that because I don't know the prayers yet and what am I, who am I -- I made my first loaf of sourdough. My attention to detail was absurd, and yes, I continued to neglect my work responsibilities and my own children to get it done. The result is VERY VERY GOOD BREAD, but it's more than that. I oftentimes rush things and then get frustrated when they don't turn out well. So this is proof that I can persevere, take my time, be deliberate, not give up, try and learn new things. Next up THE PILE OF DOUGH BALLS, OR MY THIRD FAVORITE WORD OF ALL TIME, CROQUEMBOUCHE. | | | |
