Stillness Silence Solitude
When I was thinking on what to share this week, I remembered this concept that a good friend said they tried to practice for at least 10 minutes a day.
How challenging is it, in our modern day of technology and our full lives, to take time to come aside and sit in stillness, silence and in solitude. To just be.
Scripture exhorts us to "be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10
Another Scripture I love is from Matthew 11:28-30 in The Message which says to 'learn the unforced rhythms of grace". Just these words can cause me to take a deep breath and feel the tensions go out of my system.
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matt 11:28-30
This week let's take time to "be still", and lean into our Lord and Friend, learn the unforced rhythms of grace so that we keep ourselves in the love of God.
Shalom Kath
