It's that time again, where we chat for a few minutes about what's new and frugal in the Quiltiferous household! Today's topic covers what I do in a normal week to shepherd our funds well. - It's a low spend week. That means grocery and gas only being paid. As for grocery, my goal was to spend only what was needed, and use some of the food in our pantry and stockpile to supplement the grocery costs. This allows me to use things that were on good sale in previous weeks.
- It's a stay at home week. Trips away from the house tend to be expensive in time, gas, and money. Doc headed to work, of course, but I worked in the home during the week!
- I cleaned my own house. This one sounds relatively obvious, but many of my neighbors have a maid service come in once a week. I choose to clean my own spaces and declutter as I go. Many times when I'm decluttering, I find things that I can use elsewhere or can sell at various outlets. Overall, spending a few minutes each day cleaning saves me a ton!
- In the quilting room, I'm using what I already have. I have three main unfinished projects with quilting, and I have most of the materials for those projects already bought and paid for. By working on those projects instead of starting new ones, I'm using time and money wisely. The quilt blocks pictured are from one of these unfinished projects.
- I'm keeping my wants few. I'm deleting shopping emails and turning my head to the various sales. I'm staying out of the stores, but also away from shopping sites. It's too easy to spend online these days, and I'm doing what I can to combat that!
- I'm cooking at home. By making our snacks and meals, I'm saving our family a ton!
- I'm getting creative with wants and needs! If we need something, I'm thinking of ways to find it second hand, or inexpensively. Doc recently did brakes on one of the cars, saving us a hefty repair bill by doing something he already knew how to do well. If I'm able to fix something, I definitely try my hand!
If we stay busy at home, doing what needs to be done and choosing not to spend, we can make huge headway towards our financial goals! I pray that you're able to meet your goals this week! Stacy | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
