My definition of a *Popcorn Flick* is a movie that doesn't pretend to be serious about a story as much as it just throws an extreme premise at you and takes you for a ride however ridiculous it might be. "Armageddon", "Cliffhanger" and the original "Twister" film are good examples of Popcorn Flicks done right. So, do we really need another "Twister" movie? Probably not, but I am desperate to see a good Popcorn Flick again.
*The MEAT* The story delivers on keeping you entertained between the tornado action. And I'm very pleased to say that there is a lot of tornado action which is great for a tornado disaster movie. And that, quite frankly, is more important than the storylines.
*The PATATOES* The acting *Works Well* in this movie. Glen Powell and Kiernan Shipka play their main roles perfectly to what this film asks of them, to be believable and not too serious. Take note, there is a small role performed by David Corenswet and I think he might just make a good Superman after all.
*The VERDICT* I *Liked It! *, yes, I found it quite enjoyable plus "Twisters" lived up to and exceeded my expectations for a Popcorn Flick. Don't get me wrong, it's not award-winning cinema here, but it is a *Fun Ride* to be fully enjoyed in theaters. My theater was rocking which made the overall experience memorable too.
Now, let's get to THE summer movie of the year…." Deadpool & Wolverine" To Be Continued!
