The first half of 2024 has been a busy time for me, as I suspect it has for many of you! My quilty goals this year are going slowly, since other things have taken precedence over quilting time. I generally try to mark off Fridays for quilting, household touch ups, and baking. It's been far too hot lately to bake on Fridays, but other things seem to always crowd out the sewing portion of the day!
As I look back at the goals I set at the beginning of the year, or my quilt to do list, I find that I have marked something off the list, and I'm close to finishing a bigger quilt too! The picture above is my progress minus a few blocks on the Farmer's Wife quilt. There are 111 blocks, and I've finished 28. I'm considering that a longer-term project.
The double wedding ring isn't started yet. I've let template cutting keep me from beginning this sweet gift quilt. I'm going to get my templates made this week! I'm not exactly sure how many rings I'll be making, but it won't be as many as the original quilt pattern calls for. This may also be a time-consuming project, but I believe I'm tackling this one next.
This is the Radiant Star Block of the Month from 2019! It takes me far longer than a month to work on each block, so it's been slow. I have each box of materials handy and ready to work on when I'm able to devote time to hand work. This has not been the first handwork project in line though!
I'm almost finished with the borders on a quilt I can't really share. It will become a pattern soon, which I'm also busily writing. But rest assured, I'm on border side two, counting down! I'm ready for this hand quilted beauty to be complete, shared, and seen by anyone willing! One by one, the unfinished projects will move to the finished quilts stack!
I hope you've enjoyed this stroll through my four unfinished quilts! And I hope to finish one or two of them before year's end!
