View all responses The Grand Canyon is a place I always wanted to go. The kids were young when we decided to make the drive. I am always the tourist who wants to push the boundaries(ironically because I adore boundaries in my day-to-day relationships). My husband had just read The Emerald Mile so he was hyper-vigilant about safety. I was lying on the cliffs to get the best photography. I decided to do the Nankoweap Trail by myself. It is 11 miles. It was brutal, but I arrived at the most beautiful place ever. It has a boot-width path. It took me two days. My husband and our children stayed at Marion Point which was beautiful.
