I am sitting on my recliner next to the wood heater writing this blog post to you with my left hand. It is going rather slowly and I seem to be hitting the backspace button a lot!
Early Sunday morning, 4.30 am, I tripped and fell in the dark on my way to the loo. It made a big thump according to DH... it also hurt a bit!
I got DH to get the first aid kit, bandaged up my wrist, and went back to bed...
Later that morning Sylvie gave me a cuddle next to the fire while we discussed whether we were going to go to emergency or not...
DH was doing stuff outside, and I had a chat to my friend Liz who convinced me to go in just to make sure... I was pretty sure it wasn't broken because while it did hurt, the pain wasn't too bad... unless I moved it.... and I thought we would just end up wasting ours and others' time... but Liz said she'd take me and keep me company, so off we went..
We got to emergency at 6pm... and got an x-ray done right away..
As you can see, no protruding bones and the technician said she couldn't see anything obvious...
6 hours later.............. we finally got to see a doctor!
She said I had broken one of the wrist bones, down close to my thumb, and possibly some little ones in and around the thumb. She said I needed to have a cast and then get a CT scan in the next few days. And she referred me to a specialist.
The cast went on quickly...
My first cast! So exciting!
I have never broken anything, so this is a first for me! And I always wanted a cast when I was a kid.... somehow it seems more of a hassle now than something cool! But hey, it could have been worse - I also hurt my knee and hip - thankfully she decided I could walk fine and didn't order scans on them...it was 1 am, we wanted to go to bed. We got home at 2am and I'm pretty sure I fell asleep the minute my head hit the pillow....
It's a bit frustrating - I can't crochet, knit, sew or stitch! not to mention many other things of course!! No work either... you know, I needed a vacation but this isn't quite what I had in mind!
So what does all of this mean for the blog?
Well, I will be posting the Christmas SAL every week but won't be stitching along... I'll see how I go with everything else...
In other news...
My Online Shops
As you know, earlier this year I had had enough of Etsy and closed down both of my shops.... since then I've been looking at different platforms and not been happy with any of them.
So I opened them again and my love/hate relationship with Etsy will continue.....
Staying with Etsy does mean I won't need to update all the links, so that is a positive!
I have more products in the works for both stores, but breaking my wrist will slow that plan down... oh well!
Well, that's all for today...
Please sew for me!
