It is always Our Lord and Friend's intention for us to be close. In creation God walk with Adam and Eve in the garden, but not knowing what God said ended that. The Serpent tempted eve with "has God said', if the answer had been 'Yes God has said", all would be completely different.
The Cross which is foolishness to most, is the wonderful experience of God's love to believers.
1 Corinthians 2 verse 9 and 10:
V 9: "But as it is written: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, and what has never come into a man {or woman's} heart, is what God has prepared for those who love Him."
V10: "Now God has revealed them to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything even the deep things of God."
Inside us, God dwells, He speaks to us,teaching us. Even though we live in the kingdom that is already here but not yet fully come, He speaks.
Through God's Spirit, He gives us open access to His mind, the endless brilliance of the deep things of God. From the moment we believed in Jesus, we begin a journey of being to know more about our wonderful Lord and Friend.
Our salvation involves all three persons in the Godhead. We cannot be saved apart from The Father's electing Grace. The Son's loving sacrifice, and The Spirit's ministry of conviction and regeneration.
I love to use Jeremiah 29 verse 11:"'For I know the plans I have for you'—this is the Lord declaration—'plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'."
God Bless
OFJ.
