Hello again, dear reader!
Today is going to be short and sweet since it's Friday and in the US we are gearing up for a long weekend! If you are celebrating, I hope you have plans that are fun and relaxing with family and friends!
I know cleaning is the last thing on your mind right now, but this one is exciting because it can help you do away with cleaning your shower almost completely!! And who doesn't get excited about that?!
Cleaning the bathroom is one of my least favorite chores and I especially HATE cleaning the tub and shower so when I heard about this little hack a few months ago, I had to try it and IT WORKED.
Of course, I had to share it with you all, but I wanted to make sure it was good!! I have tested this recipe in our home for about 5 months now and let me tell you, I have only had to clean my shower ONCE and it was so easy! No scrubbing involved!
So without further ado, here's my 2 ingredient shower spray recipe! This recipe can replace your store bought daily shower cleaner and it will work just as well!
(This post contains links to products I have purchased for my own home, however, at this point these are NOT affiliate links and I do not make any money from including these. These are simply for your convenience!)
DIY Daily Shower Cleaner Recipe
50% Cleaning Vinegar
50% Water
10-15 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
Mix ingredients into a small spray bottle and shake well.
How to Use It
Spray generously throughout your shower after using.
In particular, make sure you spray your shower liner, if you have one, and any flat surfaces where small amounts of water can sit or "pool" in your shower.
If you have stone, marble, unfinished or damaged grout surfaces or any kind of rubber seals in your shower, do not use this cleaner on those surfaces! It can pit or etch those materials and damage them over time! Always check whether your surfaces are vinegar-safe before using!
It is safe to spray your shower after every use, but if there will be multiple showers happening at one time, I'd wait until everyone is finished before spraying down the shower. It helps to conserve your cleaning mixture, but it also helps to cut down on the vinegar smell that many don't care for.
I wait until right before bed to spray my shower (we tend to be night shower people in our family) and leave it overnight and there is NO smell in the morning.
How To Store It
I simply store the mixture in my shower until it's gone! I bought a set of small plastic spray bottles off of Amazon for less than $10 and I keep one in my shower at all times.
We find that one bottle tends to last us about 4 weeks in our house! Sometimes more depending on if we shower every day or not.
That's it! I told you it was SUPER simple!
We absolutely love this recipe! I love it because it has cut down significantly on one of my least favorite cleaning tasks (cleaning the shower) and it has cut down on us needing to buy those daily shower sprays that are $4-5 each. It may not seem like much but little savings can add up over time!
If you try it, let me know what you think!
Until next time,
Kins
