My guild members are really sweet, but they don't read my blog! So when I share with you that I have a challenge quilt for my guild's show, you'll know that I'm not sharing a secret with any of my guild!
Our guild puts on a show every October. It's lovely! There are between 50-100 quilts entered, and then there's a challenge quilt, which has to be smaller than 30 inches and go along with the theme. This year's theme is "doors" and it's open to interpretation.
How, then, does my pretty Rowdy Flats single block quilt make it into a category about doors? To be honest, I think I will have to stretch my definition of a door for this one! I love the quilt, and I feel strongly that this is the quilt for this fall's challenge.
Here's my line of thinking. It looks like a porthole. The whole quilt also looks like the secret garden, and that story strongly features a door. I have to come up with a story to tie it into doors and a name for the quilt itself.
I would love any suggestions to tie it all together! I hope you have a lovely weekend, and that you're able to get to a few shows this year! A quilt show really is good fun!
