Sanctification is a process
Transformation/sanctification is a life-long process, - not a one-time event.
Two great gifts that the Lord Jesus Christ provides for all people, if we accept them; are
(1) the gift of salvation through repentance from sin and acceptance of Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Romans 10:7-10 TPT "But the faith-righteousness we receive speaks to us in these words of Moses: 'God's living message is very close to your own heart beating in your chest and as near as the tongue in your mouth.' And what is God's 'living message'? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will experience salvation. The heart that believes in Him receives the gift of the righteousness of God – and then the mouth confesses, resulting in salvation."
(2) the ongoing process of sanctification; provision by which we become partakers of His Divine Nature (2 Peter 1:4), as He works His character in us. A process we appropriate daily for the rest of our lives. His provision gives us victory over sin now, and victory in this life. We don't achieve through striving in our own strength, but by His provision; "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, fit it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:12-13)
We all want to be healed and set free right now, however we need to be patient. Our Lord and Our Friend is directing our sanctification process, and He knows the pace need to go for our healing and wholeness. He knows when we are 'ripe' and ready. Just like picking fruit from a tree. If we try to pick the fruit when it's not ripe, the branch may be damaged. But when it's ripe, it almost falls off the tree.
Let's yield to our Lord and Friend, trusting Him with our hearts, and allowing to 'work all things together for our good.'
Rich Blessings.
