I typically do not watch movies about domestic violence. I think that this was not a responsible telling of domestic violence. An important message was missed, it is not why women stay, the message needs to be why men abuse women? Does domestic violence change something in you that makes you settle? I think you look for safety. One thing that many people do not realize is that many relationships that have domestic violence start out very loving and romantic. Abusive men can be very charming and make you feel like you are the most beautiful woman in the world. They will consume you later on, leaving you broken from the inside out Wounds that leave scarring on the inside that no one sees. That scarring sometimes bleeds without warning, sometimes it hurts. A woman who survives is never the same. She is stronger in the broken places, however the broken places still ache. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
