I've been in a bit of an emotional funk lately, and woke up feeling every ounce the Monday mood.
Just getting older and parents getting older and all that fun stuff that's part of life.
I heated up a cinnamon roll for my daughter's breakfast and added some grapes and a napkin.
When we were in the car on the way to school, dreary coastal skies all around, my daughter remarked "Today is going to be a lucky day. I can feel it."
We'd just watched that movie Luck the night before, so the topic wasn't totally out of left field.
"Oh yeah, Baby? Why's that?"
"When I woke up, Penny (our cat) was sitting next to me in bed and not over by the fish tank. Then, I found two matching socks, and there was a napkin waiting for me at breakfast!"
I should mention that I have been on our cats to stay off the kitchen table and away from places they shouldn't be like the fish tanks. That I folded laundry last night, struggling to find matching socks as always. And I already talked about the napkin.
Maybe the most magical part of luck is that we help make it, for ourselves and those we love. It's going to be a good day. I can feel it. 🍀
