The Man with the palsy. Luke 5 verse 17 to 25:
This is a story of a man healed of palsy. Jesus was ministering in a house crowded with a lot of people, inside and outside.
The man with palsy was too weak to even bring himself to the house, so his friends carried him. They needed to lower him down through the roof to get him to Jesus.
Jesus watched their actions and saw their faith. Jesus then rewarded the sick man with forgiveness of sins and healing. This man had not done any of the 'works' that some people teach are required to receive forgiveness of sins.
Yes, we are to have good works, but holiness is a fruit and not a requirement of salvation.
His faith in Jesus saved him. Jesus not only saw the faith of the man with palsy, but He saw the faith of his four friends.
This demonstrate that our intercession in faith can powerfully affect others.
The evidence that the sick man had faith, because he was not resistant to his four friends that brought. He also got up without help when Jesus commanded him too.
Jesus could have simply healed the man and sent him home, but instead, He used the opportunity to teach a lesson about sin and forgiveness.
God Bless.
