I was talking to a man who thought the fact I was a homesteading, homeschooling, housewife was less than. I was seething a bit that my husband didn't speak up for me. I glanced at my husband, and I finally saw this is as good as he gets. He has no desire to change. We had many conversations before we were married about what our marriage would be like, what we would be like. This is as good as he gets. I chuckle when he has done all of the things he asked me not to do. I have always been a problem-solver. Throughout my life, if I don't like something, I would change it. This is why my husband frustrates me. You can't change people, unless they want and choose to change. Everyone has shortcomings and blind spots. You can change yourself, and you can change your response to others, however, you will still feel the thorns along the rose.
