The picture is what comes to my mind when I think of September. I do not think of the holidays coming up. I do not think of all the pumpkin spice and pumpkin spice related things that will pop up for this time of year. All I think of is the back to school traffic and the dread of spending hours in the commute. Maybe one day I'll grow out of it but that day is not today. So what has happened in the last eight months of my life?
GOAL UPDATE
My theme for 2024 is reset and grow which is premised on my desire for a new and clean slate. Part of the reset and grow involved a five year plan with yearly goals that ultimately feed into my five year plan. Now the intention of the five year plan is to give myself something to focus on and work towards as I've basically ticked off my big ticket items. Now I can sit back, relax, and allow myself to focus on other things in life.
I did one quarterly update at the end of the first quarter of the year. At the end of March I achieved three of twenty goals. As we are in the last quarter of the year, I decided to open my list of goals for 2024 and I've achieved three more goals over the last five months, bringing me to grand total of six goals so far. Whether I achieve the other goals or not is to be seen but I'm not fretting.
CAREER UPDATE
Today actually makes it two years in my current field and I still can't believe it has been two years already. But that's not really the update. I was selected to complete a course which I passed and now I have a new designation related to my job. Even though sometimes I feel like I haven't really achieved anything noteworthy, I realise that I actually have. I do have some other plans career-wise but we will see how the rest of this year and 2025 goes.
LIFE UPDATE
Besides hating on the back to school traffic tomorrow, I was ill enough that I needed to see a doctor (that's why I've been MIA). Initially we thought I got infected with dengue but the tests came back negative so my doctor said it's more than likely a viral illness. Stemming from that visit is five to six tests I have to do, that are not related to me being sick. I will get the tests done eventually but I am hoping it means I can finally effectively treat some PCOS related things.
WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU?
Feel free to let me know in the comments what is new with you. I am trying to figure out a way to get up to date with reading everyone's blogs but I am juggling this along with the all the things I neglected while I was ill. But if there's anything that has really stood out for you or anything that you're looking forward to during the last four months of 2024, let me know in the comments.
Until next time!
