My day began at 4 with my workout. We started at 5 a.m. We had music and art lessons mid-day. I went to Yoga class. I didn't want to be teaching school after 3 p.m. today. Later in the day, I canned and froze beets. I made another 10 batches of pesto for the freezer. This is an excellent way to season proteins and casseroles. I canned 15 jars of salsa. I canned 50 jars of tomatoes. I froze 10 bags of onions and green peppers for Fajitas. I canned 20 jars of vegetable soup. Our meat chicken and pork were delivered from processing today. Our half of a cow will be here on Thursday. The egg count for the week was 250. Goat milk was 5 gallons. Homesteading ebbs and flows with grasshoppers, squash bugs, predators, and dogs that aren't supervised. With all the bumps in the road, we have a successful season that will feed our family all winter. All on 2 acres of land. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
