The internet was wonky until 11 p.m. Our electricity was knocked out several time because someone hit a pole in three different incidents. We did the homeschool lessons. I completed another 150 jars of canning from our garden. We took the dog to the vet. He is a practical man. It turns out we have mutual friends in all places Brownfield, Maine. Our dog weighs 15 pounds. Our dog wanted nothing to do with my husband. She was a bit uneasy about the amount of large dogs in the office. One was a bit out of control, I firmly told him NO. It was clear that the owner was not able to control him. I wasn't getting bit or having my dog attacked. I decided to go to the health food store in the next town. I have gotten so many calls from back East on my way. Everyone was frightened about the gang activity in the city of Auroa which is 5 hours from us. I reassured everyone that we were fine. I returned home and was saddened to hear about another mass shooting in Georgia. This was a preventable tragedy. The FBI had reports on this kid. My thoughts are very conservative about how to handle children who make threats to commit school violence. I have written many times about my work in social services. My agency's inaction nearly cost me my life. My client had attacked school staff that resulted in police action. He was sent to the hospital and the mother signed him out. I went to work that day with the knowledge of what had transpired that day. I had a stack of incident reports that had extreme violence directed toward his family, my self, and others. My stance is if a child is making violent threats of any kind toward their school, they are pulled out of school and placed in a mental health facility for a set period of time. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
