We are Ludo - Friday 8th November 2024

Hello Ludo Community

The return back to school after half term felt like a pivotal moment.  With Halloween done and dusted we are now on the home straight to Christmas!  I think post Halloween it is totally acceptable to use the C word.  I heard someone on the radio yesterday saying she had put her tree up… one step too far pre December.

There is lots taking place in November before we even begin Christmas chat at Ludo HQ.  We are hosting our 3rd Global DEI Conference from London this time. You may recall we kicked off our twice a year DEI conference in November 2023, then ran the 2nd one in May 2024 from New York and the cadence continues, with our 3rd from London.  We have an in-person event in the City of London followed by online speakers.  You can learn more here.

For our special newsletter subscribers we are offering a FREE, yes FREE ticket to the conference for both the in person AND the online speakers.  So wherever you are in the world you can be part of the conference.  For a free ticket use this link. Page down then use GLOBALDEIVIP for a free ticket.

This week I have had a discussion with a client on the muscle pain she has been experiencing, and had no idea it was related to peri-menopause.  She was lucky enough to have a curious GP who connected the dots for her.  You can read how this impacts some women here

Following a brilliant discussion on Ludo Collective (our online Ludo Community) you can read more on how to support neurodivergent employees in the workplace by joining Ludo Collective.  To join the Ludo Community you can use this link

See you all in November for the DEI conference.

I Need My Kid To Stop Calling Me "Bro"

"My 11-year-old has started calling me 'bro,' and it's all my fault. He never says it in a cute, loving context. It gives off a kind-of frustrated, are you serious vibe. And I'm over it," writes Samm Davidson. What follows is a rant that you'll probably appreciate if you're dealing with tweenage attitude!

Meredith Masony Gets It, Because She's Been There Too

There's a good chance you recognize comedian and content creator Meredith Masony from a very familiar activity: folding laundry. While most of us are slogging it out at home, maybe while binging Selling Sunset, she's known for taking a different approach and livestreaming the process to her followers, chatting with her community while she works her way through baskets and baskets of the stuff. Well, I got a chance to chat with Masony about life, laundry, and lots of other stuff, and she really shifted my perspective on things. Give it a read.

Are You A "Gummy Bear Mom"? I Am, Apparently.

"You've heard of diet-obsessed almond moms, but what's the opposite of that? According to TikTok, it's a 'gummy bear mom' — and apparently, I'm one of them," writes Alexandra Frost. And today she's explaining what that means, and how it plays out at her house.

"Despite being born in the United States, I grew up with quite a bit of British culture. My mom and grandparents are originally from England, and that heritage seeped into my childhood in the form of Jammie Dodgers, Mr. Bean, and Wallace and Gromit. I grew up with grandparents showing me what British television they could, often by way of grainy VHS tapes or whatever was being shown on BBC America (I'm really aging myself here)," writes Morgan Flaherty.
