Recently I received an email which the above heading. It was saying 'don't look back, that's not where you are headed.' We have all lost loved ones. They have run their race and ours is still before us. God has a specific purpose for your life. I love this quote "when God created you, He had a dream and wrapped a body around that dream to fulfill it." Your life is a story of transition.
Jeremiah 29:11 is a scripture many of us are familiar with…."For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord; plans for good and not for evil. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope".
Apostle Pauls says in Philippians 3 verses 13 and 14 "forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forth to those things which lie ahead, I press forward for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus".
The dictionary says 'transition' is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. For example, the transition from adolescence to adulthood; from being single to being married; married to being widowed. These times of transition are always challenging and in the midst of the challenges, there is also blessings. Times of transition are times when character can be built, especially as we choose to yield to the Lord's still small voice p His Word to lead us. The fruit of the Spirit can grow, as we allow Holy Spirit to bring a greater measure of patience, peace (that passes understanding) and joy of the Lord which is our strength. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, but His way is PERFECT. He has the plan, and as we allow Him to mould us, we will become mature as He is mature. We can be confident that 'He works all things together for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose." We can trust Him in the process of transition, whatever it is.
I have often seen the number 11:11 lately. Eleven can be the number of transition. The 11th hour comes right before the start of a new day. Deuteronomy 11:11 speaks of God's promise to Israel when they finally made it to the promised land. They were to transition into a season in which they were under God's continual blessing from beginning of the year to the end. 11 is also associated with revelation to help us transition unto something new and overdue. We are living in a time of Grace. What good purpose does God have for you?
