Three new Youth Hubs are opening in Sheffield!
The unprecedented times that we find ourselves in, brings the opportunity to strengthen the way we support young people into employment.
As part of our the government's £30bn Plan for Jobs, we continue to develop Youth Hubs, which is part of the Youth Offer that was launched in July 2020.
Youth Hubs are co-located and co delivered with our network of external partners and are rolling out nationally. Young people who require it, can access further tailored support up to six months to meet any skills gaps and requirements, to bring them closer to labour market opportunities.
We are on track for our ambitious plan and have opened over 100 Youth Hubs nationally, in place to support young people.
Our local District teams have capitalised on existing partner relationships and reached out to those local organisations that have a unique and documented success of specialising in supporting unemployed young people, collaborating together, to bring about 3 new Youth Hubs in Sheffield.
The new Youth Hubs are as follows:
Sheffield East Youth Hub at Manor & Castle Development Trust (M&CDT) opened on Monday 6 June 2022.
Sheffield North Youth Hub, at Soar Enterprise and Sheffield South Hub, at Heeley City Farm (HCF), opened on Monday 13 June 2022.
A DWP Work Coach will work within each Hub, supporting customers to overcome their barriers to work, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their goals, and customers will have access to our network of partners delivering their services from the Youth Hub.
We are really looking forward to working in partnership with Sheffield LA and M&CDT, Soar Enterprise and HCF, to support the young people of Sheffield.
More information about the 2 remaining Youth Hubs, delivered by Sheffield City Council, to follow.
