Well, I've started decking the halls around here this year and I decided to start with my mantle. Breaking down my Christmas decorating into phases around the house has really helped me enjoy decorating again and not feel so overwhelmed. This year I changed up my Christmas decor for the mantle and went with a more simple and traditional decor style.
Christmas Decor for the Mantle Details
Garland - I decided to give this garland a try after seeing so many home decor accounts use it and mention to buy early because it sells out. Well, by the time it arrived, it had sold out! I've found a really similar looking garland here that is actually a lot cheaper too.
I used 3 separate pieces of the garland and was able to just lay them on the mantle without using command hooks. I did the sides first then added the last piece in the middle.
Lights - This year I went with the bigger bulb lights for a more timeless classic look.
Candle Sticks - I've had these for awhile and opted to just keep them out for Christmas also.
Velvet Trees - I felt like I needed just a little texture and color which is exactly what I got with this velvet tree set!
Gold Bells - Those gold sleigh bells are pretty much seen everywhere and I love the added touch they gave! I just hung the two smaller sizes on the largest bell.
Similar Lantern - This is another piece I've had for a long time and pretty much leave it out year round. Just adds a nice touch on the lower end of the fireplace.
Frame TV / Art - I love having our Frame TV above the fireplace now and changing out the artwork for each season. I buy all of my TV artwork from Etsy.
Up Close Details
I definitely changed things up from years past. Check out how different my mantle looked last year here!
