Matthew 22 verses 37 to 40:
Verse 37: He said to him, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all our mind'."
Verse 38: "This i the greatest and most important commandment,"
Verse 39: "The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." First:"Love The Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind.
Second: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Unfortunately in the world a lot of people do love themselves, but they have no love for others, or let alone love for God. It is a shallow love, the love we were created in involves three parts heart, soul and Mind, because we were created in the imagine of God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit,
God did not say love your neighbor and think any less of yourself. He said to love your neighbor in exactly the same way that you love yourself, and to love yourself with the same kind of love you have for God.
Remember that God's commandments are simply description of how the spiritual world works. If we do things that are contrary to what these commandments say, we are doing things outside the effectiveness of the love of God, which is {sin} a wrong-doing.
With this in mind, it should not be any surprise that life does not go well for us , when we break this commandment to love ourselves. Only when we love ourselves the way God requires we can love others. Only when we love ourselves we can truly love God, the way He intended.
Only when we love, in the way we were created to love, we will find, "All things are possible to them that believes." Mark 9 verse 23:
Only when we love ourselves, the power of Satan to effect our lives loses.
Loving God and loving ourselves as God loves us, is central to our walk with Our Lord and Our Friend. and we will find it easy to love our neighbors the way we should.
God Bless.
