The past week has been filled with sewing adventures here in the Quiltiferous household! For many reasons, this was the week to sew various projects! It was quite hot outside, and with haze and air quality, we opted to stay inside much of the week. That afforded me a few hours per day to put into the many sewing projects I'd had rattling around in my head!
I made tiny flag pillows that serve as decoration this time of year. They're bowl fillers, and match well with the hearts I make for that purpose. I love the idea that the bowl fillers are versatile, useful in a variety of containers or hung from a tiny clothesline! I tend to make three or four each year and add to the collection. This year, I made a few to go in a gift for a door prize at guild. That'll be fun!
This second project is also a door prize for the same event. It's a pouch made with a small orphan block and my "First Aid Pouch" pattern in the shop. I do love the lace zipper look, so I'm excited to give this one away!
My third project is a slow stitching project, hand quilting on a doll quilt. I'm sewing a cross hatch on this one, and the colors are so pretty to me. I tend to work on this when I'm needing to slow down and relax. Hand sewing is definitely relaxing to me!
On the life side, this first week of summer has been wonderful and busy at the same time. I'm keeping track of my money challenge each day, but also working a little here and there to clean house. When the children were younger and I had very full homeschool springs, I would do my thorough cleaning during the summer months. I don't have the energy I once did for such endeavors, but I can work steadily to make it look better each day. With very hot weather here for the next month or so, I'll be looking for indoor things to do! I have more sewing ideas!
I hope you all have a wonderful week, and that you're able to work on a few things that you enjoy!
Stacy
