If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from Psalm 53 Verse 1:
Psalm 53 Verse 1: "The fool says in his {or her} heart, 'God does not exist'."
The gulf is wide between the wise person and the foolish person. Fools are thoughtless, hotheaded, lazy and prideful. They ignore disciples and ridicule advice.
The wise are thoughtful and keep a tight rein on their anger. They are humble, hardworking and welcome correction and counsel.
One of the better ways to discern the wise from the foolish, we turn to the writings of Solomon. He writes, is by they handle their tongues. The wise give gentle answers that steer away wrath, while fools stir up emotions with harsh words. The wise speak life-giving words, while fools crush spirits with words of deceit.
Fools gossip and separate friends, while the wise cover offenses and promote love.
Fools are a headache in a community and even a burden on their families.
Proverbs 14 verse 24: "The crown of the wise is their wealth, but the foolishness of fools produces foolishness."
This is not about money wealth it is more about the wealth that comes from knowing how much Our Lord and Our Friend loves us. If we know that we invest our lives in Him.
A foolish person is also one that makes poor choices about how he or she invest their lives.
Even a foolish person can make that great choice, because any 'whosoever' can accept new-life in Christ. John 3 verse 16.
