Happy 2024 - and happy BEST OF AMAZON 2023 DAY! It may be unofficial, but it's my favorite post of the year because it's only the best of the best - love ya, mean it! I comb through every single order of 2023 and curate a list for home, beauty and fashion of my most used, most worn and overall favorite/must-have items! LETS GO!
AMAZON 2023 HOME FAVORITES
brass house numbers I recently replaced the house numbers on our 1960s home. The old ones were black and falling apart. I really wanted brass but didn't want to pay a premium for a name brand. I'm thrilled I find these on amazon -they look just like fancy brand name ones, but cost way less. They're super easy to install and come with all of the hardware needed.
heated blanket It's true that I'm addicted to this blanket. I'm actually using it right now while I type this post. Here's the thing: I'm a very cold natured person, but heating pads can get too hot for me and the heat is so concentrated on one small area. Plus, you can get a permanent skin condition for using heating pads too hot and too often. I am an electric blanket covert now. It's like a warm hug on your entire body. The heat is lower, but more even and it keeps me warmer overall because it's warming a larger portion of my body. My entire family loves it so much, that we ended up ordering the twin size so we can all snuggle under it together and aren't pulling the throw size to try to get more blanket, lol.
charm school book Ahh...the grandmillennial bible...what more is there to say? Written by the woman who coined the term grandmillennial, this book is a delightful journey for all lovers of GM style and explores all of the concepts that make GM style what it is - everything from rattan and wicker, to floral chintzes and scallops. You will LOVE this book.
rechargeable USB lamps I first discovered these lamps while in Plan Beach - The Colony Hotel had them at each table at their restaurant and I absolutely loved the concept of touch lamps. Then, I visited a shop in PB called HIVE where I found scalloped wicker shades made just for these lamps so I purchased one. The Poldina lamps were about $169, so I opted for these identical amazon ones - they come in a set of two for under $100. You recharge them occasionally and they're the same size and style as the name brand.
rattan desk w/ acrylic hardware I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I found this desk on amazon. The style, quality and details are like what you'd expect from Serena & Lily. Not only does it come wit acrylic hardware, it also comes with the glass top to protect the rattan. It has brass details/caps on the legs also - truly a GEM of a find. The profile is also very slim - so it's the perfect fit for smaller rooms, children's rooms and rooms where there is little space for a desk.
lilac napkins How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. These napkins are not only my favorite color, but they're high quality, wash well, have the prettiest fringe detail and the price is insanely good for the pack of 12. I've used these for every holiday since I got them - lilac is reasonless, and I stand by that.
air fryer It's no secret I don't like to cook. But somehow, someway, this air fryer made me actually feel excited about "cooking." Chicken and salmon ready in 8-10 minutes? Frozen foods cooking at lightening speed and coming out both crispy on the outside and soft on the inside? YES please. I tried to find an air fryer that was also pretty, because I'm me, and this one fits the bill in all ways. Very easy to use, even for someone as kitchen clueless as I am.
blue zip up moving bags I often wonder what I would've done without these bags during our last move. They hold a TON - literally used them to pack everything from nothing, to toys to houseware. I cannot recommend them enough. Not only were they essential for our move, we now use them in our garage to store other items and keep them safe from first and dust.
scalloped throw pillows Listen, I'm just three more decorative pillows away from irreconcilable differences in my marriage, but how could I not get these scalloped beauties? They're a bestseller for me this year and come in an array of colors. The price boggles my mind, because the quakity and the style of the scallops typically costs way more (like $80/pillow & up).
scalloped flushmount light As we can all tell by now, I'm a huge fan of scallops. So color me excited when I found this scalloped flushmout for Harper's closet. I didn't want to spend a ton on a fixture that isn't always seen and truthfully, this looks more expensive than it is.
lilac crossbody dog leash If it comes in lilac, you know I'll find a way. This was true for the crossbody leash. I initially saw crossbody leashes advertised on TikTok and thought to myself - surely they have these on amazon - and they do! I love this leash and recommend it for smaller dogs or dogs trained to walk loose leash. It's so comfortable to throw the leash on like a cross-body and it's fully adjustable.
cedar look topiaries I adore these cedar looking topiaries on my front porch. They flank my door and look really chic - and best of all, they require no care as they are UV resistant.
green clean laundry sorting basket Laundry is ever-ending, but it doesn't have to be complicated. I purchased these woven baskets WITH HANDLES to sort clean laundry and easily carry it to the room it needs to go to. Plus, these are pretty and are easier to carry than plastic laundry baskets. They also work great for toy storage and in playrooms.
pinch pleat curtains Listen - I love a good window treatment. Did you know professional custom curtains can cost thousands of dollars PER PANEL? Up until more recently, there weren't traditional pinch pleat style curtains available for an affordable price unless you went the custom route. These curtains have gone viral on every social media platform I can think of because they have that custom look, at an actual affordable price. You can also choose the length, width, material, color etc. It feels like a totally custom experience and I'm impressed with the look and quality. I have them in my living room and in Lincoln's room right now.
double walled glass mug I was first intorduced to these glasses when my mom was vistiing from canada and had me literally overnight thes from amazon because she didn't feel any of my mugs were "sufficient." I get it - ceramic mugs tend to be heavy, and I swear lifting them all the time makes me feel like I have carpal tunnel (prob need to get that checked out). Anyway, these glasses are double walled and feel almost as light as air. The double wall means you won't burn yourself holding the glass. They also hold 15 oz which is very generous. Other than my Ginori mug (fancy AF), I almost exclusively drink from these now.
100 L striped laundry baskets with handles Laundry items have been a popular purchase for me this year & for good reason. These massive laundry hampers hold up to 100 L and have handles to carry them. They're super lightweight and can actually be stored folded. I keep ours up and open at all times so we can easily carry them from room to room.
handwoven rattan laundry hamper I wanted to find something to store jackets and backpacks in our entryway and this rattan hamper is absolutely beautiful and functional. I took me a while to find the perfect piece - this one holds a ton and aesthetically is the most pleasing of the ones I found on amazon. It does come with fabric bag inserts if you'd like to use it as a laundry hamper. Great to corral all of the chaos in busy households.
lilac spiral taper candles I can't remember the last time I purchased taper candles, but as soon as I saw this, it was an immediate add to cart. They're such a lovely hue of lilac and have spiral design. They also com in many colors for any holiday table.
boxwood wreath IMO, boxwoods are a year-round wreath. I purchased a set for Christmas, but don't feel weird leaving them up all winter because they're timeless and don't scream Christmas. These are affordable, very high quality and UV-resistant, so great for outdoor use.
gold bamboo frame It's a classic for a reason - and my number 1 favorite way to frame art - the gold bamboo frame. These look identical to Framebridge's gold bamboo frames for a fraction of the price.
decorative books with storage inside These were a big time bestseller because they're great for shel styling and kids rooms/playrooms to get that look for less. They also have storage inside for kids photos, trinkets, etc. I have the in each of my kid's rooms!
capri blue volcano multi surface cleaner Volcano is one of my all time favorite scents and when I discovered they had a multi-surface cleaner, I was all in. Not only does it (duh) smell amazing, it cleans well and leaves my counters sparkling!
wavy pasta bowls The ADHD girls know, a plate bowl is the ONLY way. I seriously loathe consuming most food on a regular ol' plate - something about a plate bowl combo just feels right. I love the aesthetic of these with the scalloped/wavy look, but most of all, I genuinely enjoy each meal so much more when using these!
hydrangea emboirdered cocktail napkins The price on these blew me away - as did the very high quality embroidery. These are lovely to have in your own home or to give as a hostess gift.
long acrylic floral arrangement piece Why didn't I buy this sooner? I love this for table floral arrangements because it's low but still has a striking impact. We've used it at pretty much every holiday and it has never failed to give a totally spectacular look that doesn't block sight lines at the table.
AMAZON BEST OF FASHION & ACCESSORIES, 2023
black square neck bodysuit I declared this the best bodysuit of 2023 and I stand by that. I love a square neckline, but more than that, the fit, style and feel of the fabric are all an A+ for me. I wear the size small.
black puff sleeve maxi dress Listen - I chose this dress to wear to meet Ian Somerhalder, and I will forever stand by that being reason enough to buy it. But for description's sake, this really snatches in the waist, makes you boobs look awesome (I don't say that often) and is a very comfortable and flowy fitting through the skirt. I wear the small.
green pleated tennis skirt Flattering, pleats in the perfect spots and a stunning dark green color - truly one of my most worn and fave tennis skirts! I wea the small.
scalloped underwear We're about to get personal here, but these undies are really good. At first I just wanted them for the scallops, but they're actually very nice on, wash & dry well and have remained among my favorites for daily wear.
girls butterfly shorts Even though these aren't mine - I had to include them because all of the 5th grade girls wear these. They're so cute on, wash and wear well (high quality) and they're Harper's favorite to wear. Gives the tennis skirt-ish look but with built in shorts.
blue crewneck sweatshirt This is just a damn good sweatshirt & there's not much else to say. Almost has a vintage vibe to it. Super soft, great fit and details. I wear the small.
black high waisted leggings I think at this point, I can declare these as the GOAT. Now don't get me wrong, there are a few brands of amazon leggings I love, but if you told me I could only pick one for the rest of my life, I'd pick these. Flattering, good compression, don't roll down. I wear the small.
black silk midi skirt I bough this back in the fall for an event and because it's a closet staple and I didn't have one. This skirt makes me feel fabulous with a capital F and I love how many different ways it can be styled - the sky's the limit with what tops you can pair with this. I love how it can be dressed down with sneakers and a cropped sweatshirt or dressed up with a pearl-adorned top like I wore in Dallas (below).
black formal dress It's giving classic, it's giving chic. I shopped for hours to find a formal dress to wear to the LTK finale party and I just couldn't find anything I loved that wasn't $700. This Amazon find did not disappoint! It was a great fit, uber flattering and easy to move in! I'm wearing the small.
daisy pearl necklace I mist make the disclaimer that I purchased this necklace before I saw Belly wearing it on The Summer I Turned Pretty, but I totally get why they featured it on the show because it's so cute. I don't know who hers is made by, but mine is amazon, one of my summer bestsellers and under $10!
pearl mesh cover up dress This dress made me feel like a million bucks, period. I'm wearing the size small!
"fancy" joggers These are a favorite of mine, but also a 2023 bestseller. The fabric they're made of feels a little more elevated - like athleisure, but make it a little more chic. They have pockets and taper at the ankle which I love. Quality wise - top notch. I wash them and dry them in the dryer and they're perfect.
PAIGE ultra high rise Cindy jeans I don't buy new denim often, but when I do, it's usually Paige. These are a super high rise, a cropped hem/kick hem style and oh-so-flattering. Plus, they have a great amount of stretch so they're super comfy to wear.
black scalloped tennis skirt set Another tennis skirt has made it into my top buys of 2023 and it's SCALLOPED! I don't wear the top from this set, but it's worth it for the skirt alone. It's the perfect length, looks great on and washes well. I wear the small.
lilac scalloped phone case So cute, so feminine, so on brand. I'm ordering the 14 pro max one as I type this!
red and pink velvet bow heels While these aren't heels that get a ton of wear because they're so specific, I'd be remiss not to mention them because they look so designer and are such a standout accessory to pair with a simple cocktail dress. TTS.
AMAZON BEST OF BEAUTY, HAIR & SKINCARE, 2023
nippy nipple covers I often wonder how any women don't own these because they're practically all I wear in the summer beside sports bras. These stay on, hide the nips and are my most worn summer item lol.
water filter for your shower After we visited NYC and I had the best hair of my life, I took it upon myself to research water quality across the country and learned that NYC has some of the best water in the nation. That explained why my hair was glossy, shiny and frizz-free when I washed and styled it there. This led to a lot of online searches for how I could replicate this at home and that's when this shower filter was purchased, installed and became my BEST BEAUTY FIND of 2023. Is that a little dramatic? Yes. But so are the results. I've gotten HUNDREDS of DMs from y'all sharing how this has changed your hair and that thrills me because a good hair day is just the BEST feeling. The filter works by removing the blah stuff in your water so you're getting cleaner hair with cleaner water that's just...better. It's easy to install (you DIY) and you can change the filter every 3-6 months depending on how often you're washing your hair.
glow recipe niacidimide dew drops This was one of those products that I wasn't sure I'd like and now can't be without. It's hydrating, gives skin that glass glow and is the PERFECT skincare step before applying foundation. Nowadays, I buy the jumbo bottle and am thankful I started using it. It's worth it.
ELF brow lift + mascara wands for brow gel If you want that feathered yet defined brow look without going to a salon to get them laminated, look no further than this under $8 brow gel. It gives a beautiful hold and finish and I find the lifting effect to really give a youthful look to the face without changing anything else about your makeup routine. You'll need the wands I linked above to apply the gel.
pink makeup sponges I think back to the days where I was dropping $22 on ONE Beauty Blender and have that "what in the world was I thinking?" moments. When you know better, you do better, and I'm telling you right now, you'd do better by yourself to switch to these makeup sponges. Not only do I (GASP!) think they're better than beauty blenders, they also cost way less. And let's all admit that we don't wash them as often as we should - this multi pack means you'll have cleaner sponges more often.
pink sleep mask Oh you don't use a sleep mask? You don't need one? Try this one and come back to me in a week. It's like a cloud for your eyes. Blocks out all light. Soft, smooth, velcro adjustable at the back. I don't sleep without it. I bring it with me when I travel.
royal blowout spray This product is a little bougie because it's on the pricier side (I buy the $24 bottle and it lasts a very long time given the size) but it's my favorite heat protectant and styling spray. It smooths without any greasy or heavy feeling and smells AH-mazing. You need to use a heat protectant any time you're heat styling - make it this one.
korean exfoliating mitt I am addicted to self -tanning and that's fine and all, but I must exfoliate before applying it and I've learned the hard way that this Korean mitt is the ONLY way to do it right. You're manually exfoliating off all the dead skin, old self tanner and any dryness on your skin so that you have nice, fresh skin for your next application. Plus, it's so easy to use in the shower. I machine wash mine too!
NULASTIN brow growth serum I have another tube on this on order right now because it's truly the only brow serum I've ever used that gave me noticeable and significant results (tons of new growth). It was recommended by my brow specialist and she was not kidding - saw results within just two weeks of use. I used the entire tube and then stopped, but recently noticed some gaps I'd like to fill in, so I'll start another round this week.
tiered acrylic bathroom shelf This was a best seller last year - I love that it has brass hardware and overall simplifies bathroom storage and makes it *aesthetic.*
sun shield UV protection visor You may look like Darth Vader, but there's no reason to get sun damage on your face - and that's where this sun shield comes in. Listen, you may get some looks, but when your skin is aging like fine wine, who'll be having the last laugh? That's right - we will. We make look "ridiculous" but we also care about our skin, sun exposure and not getting sunburns due to our retinol use. Everything is adjustable - I rarely fully pull down the shield, I just angle it to cover as much of my face as I can while still keeping great access to peripheral vision.
PTR AHA/BHA treatment My skin does really well with acids, so it was a no brainer to add this to my routine. I don't have acne, but I use this to keep pores smaller and any hormonal acne spots that may pop up at by. I apply two pumps a night, focusing on my chin, jaw are and nose.
