This post is not going to be popular. Our government policy is inept with Israel. I have the deepest sympathy for the trauma that Hamas committed on Oct 7 toward Israel. 30,000 people have died in Gaza. We have children orphaned, malnutrition, and shooting into people gathering for food. We have more childhood malnutrition in Gaza than Africa, sit that for a bit. Enough is enough.
Israel has a right to defend itself, and to exist. Hamas will never be destroyed. You cannot destroy ideology. The children we see starving on the news, the terror, the young who are suffering are the next generation of Hamas. However, I am angry at Israel's horrible actions against Palestine civilans. and President Biden coddling of Israel. It is time for President Biden to take a tough stance and give tough moral love to Israel. We will provide humanitarian aid, nothing else. There is a fine line between justice and revenge. Israel has crossed that line months ago.
I think people are afraid of being called an antisemitic if they criticize the actions of Israel. The conflicts of Israel and Palestine have gone on far too long. There has always needed to be a two State Solution. Americans would never allow people come to this country and take over Colorado taking away their lands and homes. There have been bad prior acts by both Israel and Palestine over the last 75 years. The hatred that had gone for generations needs to stop.
We need to reframe who is winning and not winning. The Palestinans have been herded into a area like animals in pen waiting for slaughter. As an American mother, I am heartbroken by the children suffering nightly on the news. Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu had been playing Biden like a fiddle. Netanyahu has not taken the counsel by Biden to not be consumed by rage. It is time to decrease our presence in the Middle East. There are countries that will never be able to uphold democracy, I am a stong believer in staying in our own sandbox.
I was thinking this morning back to the day 9/11 happened. We had called a special meeting as to how we were going to handle this situation with our clients. My first words was we should not hate all Arab people. Those were the words to my client as I walked in, "We cannot hate all the people from these countries from this terrible event."
