My take on this book as a conservative woman may surprise you. I enjoyed reading this book because it gives insight on Ted Cruz's upbringing. It is ironic after the Lavender Scare and The Red Scare. of 5 decades that homesexuality and Communism still informs political devides. Ted Cruz's father was part of the Cuban revolution and had to flee for life. His father built a life here. Ted Cruz talks out of both sides of his mouth as more politicans do. He flip-flopped on Donald Trump. Ted Cruz would never be a chapter in Profiles in Courage. He enabled Dinald Trump. Woke was an originally was to awaken America about racism with African Americans. Woke has become an Politically Correct on steriods. We micromanage every little word. every phrase. There are two sides to the Woke coin, you can be too liberal and too conservative. The keypoint is being too NARROW-MINDED and petty. No one has the right to determine in your home how to raise your children with beliefs.
