I gave up coffee for Lent . This morning's cup of coffee was frothy and delicious. I was thinking of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday. and Easter. I remember unqiueness and beauty of the series of liturgical services when I was growing up.
Today was a long school day. We are getting ready for state testing. Monday, our son gets his braces off. It has been a long 18 months for him. He will have a special eating day this week with the foods he had been restricted from. I am not sure how sore his mouth will be. He has to have the hardware removed and a retainer made.
Our meal plan for the week:
Friday: Salmon loaf, broccoli, quinoa, oranges
Saturday: Spaghetti sqaush bake, salad, fruit cup
Sunday: roast turkey, roasted sweet potatoes, beets,and parsnips Dessert: peanut butter bars
Monday: Turkey soup. salad, rolls, and apple cranberry crisp
Tuesday: Tacos, yellow rice, charred corn, pico, refried beans, and melon
Wednesday: Cottage pie, turnips and parsnips, pineapple
Thursday leftovers fruit and ice cream sundae bar
Friday: Lentil sloppy joes, salad, oven fries
Breakfast this week:
dutch baby with berries
baked oatmeal
smoothie bowls
breakfast sandwiches
Lunches:
loaded potato soup
buddha bowls
grilled panni sandwiches
homemade hotpockets
I started seedlings in the green house today:
Sunflowers
tomatoes
cucumbers
squashes
various flowers.
