I so enjoyed "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", thought it was the perfect sequel to the classic movie that not only accounted for the time that passed by but had a perfect ending that fans of the franchise could finnaly have a good sequel. While it did give closure, it also introduced the Ghostbusters franchise to a whole new generation and of course, that means more sequels for the better or worse.
*The MEAT* Keep in mind the original "Ghostbusters" story was written very tongue in cheek with a cheesy tone that went for laughs more than explanations. So, trying to expect more from this storyline would probably be asking for too much. That said, the story did a decent job of keeping it cheesy with a bit of grace from the past and inserting just enough humor to keep it not so serious. It was *Decent*.
*The PATATOES* The acting is the same as the last film. The main character is played by Mckenna Grace and she does a wonderful job for sure. Nobody else really stands out, but the originals are back with slightly larger roles than in "Afterlife" unfortunately, nobody really stands out above anyone else. If you assume Bill Murray and Paul Rudd play the usual Bill Murray and Paul Rudd characters you would be correct but, I think they messed up by not giving them much time to work together or off each other. It is disappointing thinking about that opportunity lost.
*The VERDICT* As I left the theater, I felt *Satisfied* with this movie experience. It was good, entertaining and had its share of funny moments. However, after waiting awhile before I write this and letting the movie sink in more. "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" did not age well. In fact, it slipped to the *It was Okay* status in my memory. So, definitely not a must see, but more of an *Enjoyable Movie* to catch at your own convenience. I do not think they should make anymore though…I'm just saying.
