I am currently working from home and finding it difficult to concentrate. The root cause is a bout of flu I suffered last week. More than a week has passed and yet I still feel unwell. My neck aches, my voice cracks, swallowing remains painful, and the list of symptoms goes on. Compounding my discomfort is the weather. Since morning, it has been raining or drizzling. While it's not particularly cold, there is no sunshine. This is something I've come to realize doesn't suit me after living in Germany for several years. No sun, no energy. I am sure many fellow Indians and people from countries where the sun shines 95 percent of the year can relate. Regardless, I have a presentation to prepare for in 5 days, and I am only on the second slide. My focus is elusive. Furthermore, I ordered food because I simply didn't feel up to cooking. Like this I just ended up eating a burger, a big muffin, and some sweet potato fries.
In an attempt to combat this malaise, I decided to draw back the curtains to let as much light as possible into the room. I also opened the windows a crack to let in some fresh air. Today wasn't the worst day, but it certainly wasn't the best either. I am hopeful for making progress on my slides tomorrow.
Spring, I am desperately waiting for you…where are you? And, I am curious to know, does it also happen to you, or it's just me? It cannot be. Strange. Missing sunlight has to affect other people as well, right? What are your thoughts and experiences?
