It's Spring Cleaning time! I have a few free resources for you concerning cleaning that I've put out over the years of doing this blog! The first is a Spring Cleaning Checklist that helps me a ton when I do this task! I slide the printed checklist into a page protector and mark off each task with a dry erase marker when it's complete!
The second resource I want to share today happens to be a nontoxic cleaner recipe. This uses things you may already have in your cabinet to create a basic cleaner that can be used to clean so many different things! As a disclaimer, this isn't my recipe. It comes from several Australian sources to include Annabel's blog. I've converted it to brands and items we can find here in the US.
Aussie Miracle Cleaner
2 tablespoons of washing soda
4 1/2 cups water
3 tablespoons of liquid dish soap
1 cup of vinegar
40 ml of essential oil (optional but nice)
Mix all in a large jug. I choose Arm and Hammer brand washing soda-yellow box in the laundry section of Walmart. Colored dish soap can be used to add pretty colors. My essential oil of choice is a "happy" or "joy" scent. It has lavender and citrus oils for disinfecting too. I happen to like the scent very much!
To Use-Dilute dilute dilute. Use two tablespoons per gallon for floors. About a tablespoon per spray bottle for an all purpose spray. A little goes a long way.
Spray stains with miracle cleaner and let sit, sometimes overnight. Wash in normal detergent.
I hope this is helpful to you! I need to get back to cobwebs and other spring cleaning tasks! Happy Cleaning!
Stacy
