CARL GOOCHSat, Jun 22, 11:20 AM (9 days ago)to Carl's Thoughts On - Man Has Man has eyes but can not see. (Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. …
(Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.')
It seems to me that man has become blind to the blessing of God. Man has become so trained and conditioned by the world that he sees but does not understand. He sees God working in their lives and the lives of others, yet he does not see it as being from God.
He calls these things, happenstance, coincidences, rewards for some action he did, etc..
The ways of the world have clouded our eyes and hardened our hearts to the ways of God.
Man has ears but can not hear.
(Mark 4:23 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.")
Man has become deaf, he hears but does not listen. Wise words fall to the ground because he refuses the truth. He heeds the lies of the world that say there is no God. That self is the only truth that matters. He hears the word of God spoken then twists it trying to make it fit his desires.
How easy it is for the world to lead him astray.
Man has lips but can not speak.
(Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.)
Man has been struck dumb, unwilling or unable to speak the truth. His silence proclaims his doubts and fears. He now questions the wise word taught to him in his youth. He trembles at the thought that someone might disagree with him. Or that they may laugh and mock him. And the world plays upon these fears to further condition the man.
Man has troubles but he has hope.
(Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. ) (Hebrews 13:5b "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.")
Within the hearts of man rages a battle. The fierce age old battle of good and evil. But man need not face this battle alone.
The world would like man to think that he is alone in this struggle in hopes that he would rely on the ways of the world.
But the truth is the one stronger than the world will stand with us. The Son of God has shown mercy on us and has paid the price of our sins.
When we call upon Him in prayer, He is there. He will lead and guide us through our trials. His Holy Spirit is the very power of God working in us and through us to His glory.
Our hope is in the name of the Lord. Our salvation is in Christ alone.
