Some have asked about how I come up with the things I write. Well to tell the truth I don't. Well at least not all on my own. I may hear a phrase or statement in passing that sticks with me. Or maybe a scripture I read, sermon I heard or even a song lyric that triggers my writing. I think God plays a major role in what and how I write.
Actually I have dyslexia, so I have to read a little slower than most people. That forces me to focus more on the content. And most people who know me know I don't think like everyone else. I process thoughts differently most of the time I think in rhyme. Sometimes that is good and sometimes not so much.
When I write "Carl's Thoughts" they are usually bits and pieces of much lengthier thoughts. I use these writings to help me process so I can understand them better. They help me discern between what is good and true and what just sounds that way.
Most people who have read any of my writings understand I believe in Jesus Christ and His saving grace. I start my day off in prayer. That helps me to focus. Then I read a little in my bible as a study source.
This is how I write. But it is not a natural thing for me as I am easily distracted. My mind wanders from moment to moment. I can be in the middle of a deep thought and BOOM, I'm thinking about what is my favorite flavor ice cream. (several by the way..haha)
